DVL Field Trip in the Dubaer
Land, Czech Republic
The DVL annual general meeting in 2003 took place together with Czech colleagues in Prag. Following the trip, several members of the DVL took part in a field trip through the Dubaer Land in Northern Bohemia to examine a locally occuring phenomena, the "Umgebindehaus". Translated literally as "surrounding house" it represents a hybrid rural construction that combines the slavic log cabin with the German half-timbered construction. The field trip was organised and lead by Eckhard Beuchel together with Christian Meyer
from Limbach-Oberfrohna.
